I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry (2019) and a Master’s degree in Application in Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology (2022), both from the University of Porto.
Currently, I am PhD student at the University of Porto. Since I’m passionate about the challenges posed by the world of microbiological diseases, with a special focus on plant pathogenic bacteria, my thesis project aims to decipher the epidemiology of the phytopathogenic bacteria Erwinia amylovora in Portugal and explore molecular mechanisms driving putative environmental adaptation, whilst developing a reliable E. amylovora-specific biosensor for early on field detection.
